Fish-For-Free Days at Columbia Crossing
Fish-For-Free Days at Columbia Crossing
Every year, the PA Fish and Boat Commission designates two Fish-For-Free Days, when residents and non-residents can legally fish without a fishing license. In 2023, those days are Sunday, May 28th and Tuesday, July 4th. Fish-For-Free days are a great opportunity for the young and…less young to try their hands at fishing!
To make it even easier, Susquehanna National Heritage Area will allow visitors to borrow fishing poles and child-sized PFDs (life jackets) on Fish-For-Free Days this summer. Simply stop in at the front desk during business hours with the name, age, address, and phone number to check out your gear. You must use the equipment in Columbia River Park and return it by 5pm that day. We strongly encourage that everyone, particularly kids, wear PFDs when close to the water’s edge. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Sophia Vayansky at SVayansky@SusqNHA.org or 717-449-5607.
