SNHA Key Partnerships & National Networks
Our success depends on strong, ongoing relationships with key state and national partners whose strategic priorities for the region align with our own.
![]() PA DCNRThe Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) administers the Pennsylvania Heritage Areas Program and coordinates a statewide network of Conservation Landscapes. Susquehanna NHA collaborates with DCNR’s Bureau of Recreation and Conservation to fund and implement programs and projects that advance the work of our officially designated Pennsylvania Heritage Area and support the Susquehanna Riverlands Conservation Landscape. |
![]() National Park Service National Heritage AreaThe National Park Service works with Susquehanna NHA to fulfill our national National Heritage Area Management Plan. National Heritage Areas are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes. Unlike national parks, National Heritage Areas are large lived-in landscapes. Consequently, National Heritage Area entities, like SNHA, collaborate with communities to determine how to make heritage relevant to local interests and needs. |
Regional & National Networks
We engage with networks of public and non-profit organizations that advocate for and promote the places and issues we care most about. SNHA links local organizations with national and state heritage and conservation networks. These organizations promote and advocate for places and issues we care about. SNHA participates and collaborates to bring nationally-recognized experts, advocates, and support to our region.
Project & Program Partners
Our programs, projects, and visitor facilities involve partnerships with public and non-profit organizations that share our common interest in conservation, enhancement, and promotion.
