Heritage Partnerships Planner

As Heritage Partnerships Planner for the Susquehanna National Heritage Area, Kara works with community partners and stakeholders across the region to support and celebrate its heritage through the development of the Heritage Partnerships Program. This program provides technical assistance, connects organizations to funding resources, fosters networking opportunities, and advances region-wide interpretation that tells the Susquehanna story in meaningful, inclusive ways.
Before joining SNHA, Kara served as a nonprofit Program Manager, developing statewide housing programs, administering major grants, and collaborating with diverse partners. Earlier, she worked as a community-based occupational therapist in urban and rural Pennsylvania, shaping her community-centered approach to public history.
Kara is pursuing graduate certificates in Heritage and Museum Practice and Geographic Information Systems at Penn State and holds bachelor’s degrees in urban studies and history of art and architecture from the University of Pittsburgh.
