Amber Freeman joined the Susquehanna National Heritage Area in July of 2024 as the Visitor Services Manager for the Zimmerman Center for Heritage. She holds a B.A. in history and creative writing from Waynesburg University, an M.A. in historical research from Duquesne University, and a museum studies certificate from Harvard Extension School. She came to SNHA after over a decade working in libraries and has also had the opportunity to dabble in archaeology. Amber has always had a passion for discovering the ways that lands, people, and culture have transformed over time and in relation to one another and is thrilled to bring those stories to the public through her work at the Zimmerman Center.

Amber has spent most of her life across the river in Lancaster and when not working, can often be found reading, crafting, or talking with a funny accent at the PA Renaissance Faire.
