SNHA Adventure Camp
July 18 – July 22, 2022
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
For kids and teenagers ages 10-15
Your river adventure begins this summer on the Susquehanna! Campers will explore the outdoors through on-water and on-land activities. Half the day will be spent exploring the river at Shank’s Mare Outfitters. Whether it be kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, or getting in a creek and looking for local wildlife, it will be an outdoor adventure! The other half of the day on-land with Susquehanna National Heritage Area staff at Columbia Crossing and/or other nearby sites learning about our rich cultural history through fun activities!
Campers will be split into two age groups: ages 10-12 and ages 13-15. Age groups will rotate during the day from off-site recreation at Shank’s Mare Outfitters and activities at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center. Pick-up/ Drop-off and lunch will all take place at Columbia Crossing. Campers will be transported to and from sites with our shuttle van.
$300 for the week. Includes all transportation, equipment, and instruction and any field trips/ excursions that may be taken during days of inclement weather/ river conditions.
Thanks to generous donors to Susquehanna National Heritage Area, SNHA Adventure Camp is offered at a subsidized rate of $300 per camper. Camp scholarships are also available for those who cannot afford the $300 camp fee. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must complete the Camp Scholarship Application. Our funds are limited, but we want to do our best to make attending camp a possibility, not a hardship. Scholarships will be awarded first-come, first served as applications are placed and reviewed. Priority is placed for residents of Columbia.
For registration/payment questions and general camp questions contact Sophia Vayansky, Columbia Crossing Program Coordinator, at 717-449-5607 ext. 2 or firstname.lastname@example.org
