Blanton Amspacher is a York County native with a passion for nature and the history of our local region. He obtained a BFA and BSE from Millersville University in 2009. After which he spent a number of years as a showing artist and substitute teacher in both York and Lancaster County. Blanton has been a volunteer and presenter for museums and educational facilities for well over a decade. He has presented on topics such as entomology, ornithology and historical technologies such as flint-knapping, atlatl creation and use, fire starting and many others.

Blanton formed a love for history through his grandmother, a local historian in Red Lion, his father, a Revolutionary War and Civil War reenactor, and his own personal interests in the natural world, numismatics and human history through art. Blanton can often be found exploring the local wilderness – searching for insects and arachnids or interesting plants! At home he is an illustrator, sculptural metalworker, farmer, husband and father of 4.
